“I Speak Life”

“Your life has meaning and purpose.” This quote captures the conflicting understanding in the minds and hearts of many that have witnessed the horrific affects of COVID-19 and the ugly hand of racism. The United States of America has reached the death toll of over 100,000 due to the coronavirus. As a country we implemented the stay at home order, but due to a capitalist society we were quickly summoned to reopen businesses, restaurants, and other social settings all for the mighty dollar. We have witnessed being dismissed by our government only to satisfy the economy that has become more important than human life. Consequently, within the pandemic of COVID-19 the ugly hand of racism boldly displayed itself again for the world to see through the deaths of Ahmaud Arbery and now George Floyd. African American men being killed because of the color of their skin. I can recall in 2008 being introduced to the hand of racism through a Houston Police Officer. In that moment I was not looked upon as beautiful, intelligent, the daughter of pastor and educator, a believer in the faith, sister, friend, or even a human being worthy of being heard. Unfortunately, in that moment I was a “black” problem that needed to be roughly handled by a Houston Police officer on duty. It was following that incident that my mother prayed, loved, and spoke life into me. That moment transfigured what I had wrongfully experienced, and it reminded me of who and whose I was. My mother answered the call to speak life into and over me, despite the enemy trying to destroy me. Is it possible that we must now answer the call to speak life over our families and friends? Are we missing our assignment in being prayer warriors and encouragers?

Today, we are rapidly approaching the end of the month of May 2020. Life as we know it is no longer the same, and the lessons given have opened our eyes to many hard truths. It is here that we must begin to cover, pray, and speak life over each other. The enemy is attacking on every side, and we must use the blueprint God has given us to combat the devil. No matter the evil tactics of the government, racists, or male chauvinist; we are daughters of the high King. We are also linked to the sons of the high King. Our lives matter, and we each have a purpose to carryout in this life. Queens and princesses, the season is here for us to start speaking life over ourselves, family, friends, and humanity.

Devotional Scripture: Isaiah 55:11 "So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.”

Queens Remember- there is power in our words to shift any circumstance. Therefore, SPEAK LIFE!

Queens Remember- the time is now for us to speak faith filled words of positivity, hope, and love!

Queens Remember- we must be intentional, specific, and speak big over ourselves, family, friends, and humanity to combat the enemy.

On this day WE shall speak life over ourselves, family, friends, and humanity to eradicate the ugly hand of racism and the hideous effects of COVID-19. We will forever remember our faith filled words that our God loves each of us and has given us a special assignment to fulfill on this earth. Therefore, we will walk, talk, and speak of God’s power, goodness, and love. That “one word” will be the guiding light of restoration within these dark times. We SPEAK LIFE!
